Sponsored by the Washington Area and Muscatine Amateur Radio Clubs

The Southeast Iowa Hamfest for 2011 is now history.   This 27th hamfest was marked by a great turnout and great weather.   Our commercial vendors filled the hall and we had great swag for the door prizes!  Our thanks to our vendors for the prize donations!

Site setup and vendor setup went as well as usual on Saturday. (Thanks, club members and volunteers!)

The evening Wiener Roast was a welcome break for club members and vendors as we gathered for food and conversation.  The Washington Area Amateur Radio Club did a fine job of preparing and serving the feast.  The brats proved a smash success and will be served from now on.  Attendance was strong and the Midway Pavilion is a great location.

On Sunday, the splendid weather had tailgaters displaying everything one can imagine, or so it seemed.   Inside, the vendors sold the wide variety of goodies we've come to expect and that everyone took time to look over.  We are grateful to all our vendors who make our 27th show worth the trip, welcoming back our stalwarts and "newbies".

New this year, and extremely popular, were a portable repeater and a balloon launch.

The repeater will be back, providing clear and easy communications within the hamfest area. Although the repeater was not announced, it was quickly found and was happily used by the staff and visitors.

WØOTM launched iHAB7 (Iowa High Altitude Balloon) right in front of the vendor hall and commanded a very large audience. We hope to host another launch in 2012.

We can't forget the VE team, laboring in the Midway Pavilion.   Once again, this area boasted a number of examinees.  The Midway Pavilion, which offers heating, better lighting and easily accessible restroom facilities, was extremely well received!

We invite you to return for the 28th Annual Southeast Iowa Hamfest, Sunday, October 7, 2012!
